Barton (née Hine) - The funeral of Mrs Melva Barton of Hillside formerly of Wy Yung and Lindenow South, will leave Riviera Christian Centre, 103 Bairnsdale - Dargo Road, Bairnsdale, after a service commencing at 1.00pm on Friday (Aug. 29), 2025, for the Coongulmerang (Lindenow South) Lawn Cemetery. Donations to Cancer Council of Victoria would be appreciated Melva’s funeral service will be streamed here. Beloved wife of Nick for 58 years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Susan, Susan and Lester (Wharfe). Proud grandmother of Georgie and Poppy, Luke and Ryan. Loved daughter of Elias ‘Les’ and Olive Hine (both dec.) Cherished sister to Peter (dec.), David, Kevin, John and Graeme. Thanks to all staff at Sutherland Lodge who tended her for the last 2 years. Very active in the community she will be sadly missed. Loved and loving mother and mother-in-law of Peter and Susan. Proud Grandma of Luke and Ryan. Her great commitment to family, community fundraising, tennis, and the joy she took from serving up food for others all reflected her caring spirit. She gave her time with love, and without fuss. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service, and will continue to be missed by all who knew her.
